You can spice up your Trivia Game or Poll by embedding YouTube videos to add music and videos to your questions. These will display alongside the question on every participant's Mobile View and on the Projector View.
You can add music and video using the Add YouTube Video function to create different types of questions like:
- Music videos for Name That Tune/Video questions
- Famous scenes from movies and shows for "What famous movie is this scene from?!" questions
- Sports games and highlights for sports-related trivia questions
- Funny clips to add humor
Copying the YouTube Link
First, you'll need the link to the YouTube Video you want to add, so head over to YouTube or YouTube Music and find your desired video. Once you've chosen a video, click the Share button located to the right of the video title. The Share dialogue box with circle social media icons will pop up, but you'll only need the actual URL link of the YouTube video.
Next, locate the URL text box and hit the blue Copy button. The link will now automatically be copied to your clipboard. Finally, you can now head back to the Experience Dashboard.
Pasting the YouTube Video Link
To add a YouTube video onto Crowdpurr, go to the Experience Dashboard, then go to the blue Questions tab, and select the question tab of the question you want to add a video to. Look for the Add YouTube Video with a video icon to the right of the Multiple-Choice Answers section.
Once you click on Add YouTube Video, a blue pop-up box with instructions for adding a YouTube video by copying and pasting its link will show up. Once you have pasted the YouTube video's link, press the green Search button.
After hitting Search to add the YouTube video, you will now see a thumbnail of your chosen video as well as two buttons for the Start Time and End Time at the bottom.
If you don't need a specific part of the video to play and would like to display the full video, simply ensure that both the Start Time and End Time boxes are left unchecked. These boxes are optional and are unchecked by default so the YouTube video will play from the beginning and will continue playing through the duration of your question.
Next, press Add Video to finalize adding the YouTube video to your question.
Specifying the Start and End
Sometimes you may only want to display a specific part of your YouTube video. This could be a particular verse in a song or an isolated video clip from a movie scene. You can specify which part of the video to show to participants by editing the Start Time and End Time on the initial pop-up box or by clicking the green Edit pencil icon to the right of the added video.
First, find the two timestamps you'd like the video to Start and End at. In this example, we will be using the timestamp of 1:00 to 1:30 for the video. Once you've filled out the two Start Time and End Time boxes, make sure to check these boxes. These checkmarks indicate the YouTube video is set to play from the timestamps you've specified.
Next, press the purple Add Video to finalize adding the YouTube video with the updated playtimes for your question.
Viewing the YouTube Video on the Projector View
Once you've successfully attached a YouTube video to the question, it will be displayed on the Projector View whenever that particular question is displayed. YouTube videos are displayed next to the various answer options for your entire crowd to see.
Viewing the YouTube Video on the Mobile View
Your YouTube video question will also be shown on every participant's mobile device on the Mobile View of your Poll or Trivia Game. In case you're not using the Projector View, your participants will still see the video on their devices, and is shown above the answer options.
Removing the YouTube Video
If you no longer want a YouTube video attached to your question, simply click on the red Delete button with a trash icon. Once you click on the Delete button, Crowdpurr will confirm that you'd like to Remove this Question Media? Click OK to remove the YouTube video.
