By default the Projector View will automatically follow along with your Trivia Game displaying each question and then each view that you enable (e.g. Show Live Answer Results (A), Show Correct Answer (C), and Show Rankings Leaderboard (R)). This is so your crowd can follow along on the displayed Projector View along with playing on their mobile devices using the Mobile View.
In some use-cases, you may want to display only a Trivia Game's real-time Rankings Leaderboard on the Projector View but not have the Projector View follow along question-by-question and view-by-view. Examples of this use-case are:
- Displaying the Rankings Leaderboard full-time on a monitor at a tradeshow booth so your current and past players can revisit and view the current rankings
- Having a large Rankings Leaderboard projected full-time as the main display while your players follow the questions, answer results, and correct answer on their mobile devices (i.e. instead of having the Projector View act as a reference in addition to their mobile devices it can only display the rankings)
- Having multiple Projector View windows open with one following the Trivia Game, one displaying the individual rankings full-time, one displaying the team rankings full-time, and perhaps even one displaying the multi-game rankings for several trivia games (e.g. the week-long overall rankings).
With the below settings you can create any type of Projector View configuration.
How To Enable Rankings-Only on the Projector View
You can easily set your Projector View to only show the Rankings Leaderboard of your Trivia Game full-time. You simply need to tell the Projector View to no longer sync with your Trivia Game. After telling it to not sync you can enable any view you wish on the Projector View and it will remain on that view while still updating in real-time with your Trivia Game's progress.
To do this, complete the following steps:
Open a Projector View window by clicking on the large purple Projector View button from the Experience Dashboard.
On the opened Projector View window, click the lower-right-hand corner button with the gear icon on it. This opens the configuration menu of the Projector View.
On the View Settings panel, disable Sync Projector View. Your Projector View will now no longer follow along with your Trivia Game's active question and enabled views from the Experience Dashboard. Any updates made from the Experience Dashboard will not affect the Projector View. Only updates made using the configuration menu will update the Projector View.
Click on the configuration menu's gear button again in the lower-right-hand corner of the Projector View, and enable Show Rankings (R). You can also just type the R key on the keyboard as a shortcut to enable/disable the Rankings Leaderboard view.
That's it! Your Projector View will now remain on the Rankings Leaderboard while still continuing to update in real-time as players answer questions.
Opening Multiple Projector View Windows for Multiple Displays
You are free to open as many Projector View windows as you need. By default, they will all display the exact same content which is to follow along with your Experience (e.g. Trivia Game) question by question and view by view (e.g. Live Answers, Correct Answer, Question Notes, Rankings Leaderboard).
The above settings let you easily configure one (or more) Projector View window(s) following along with your Trivia Game and also having one (or more) Projector View window(s) showing the Rankings Leaderboard full-time. You may also show any other view you like full-time as well. Such as leaving the Projector View on the same question the entire time. Or having one Projector View displaying the individual rankings and one Projector View displaying the team rankings (and even one displaying the cumulative multi-game rankings as well). The configuration is up to you! Simply turn off Sync Projector View and enable whichever view you want that Projector View window to display.
