The Multiple Choice question type allows your crowd to choose from several answer choices that you write and include along with your question. This question type is supported by both Polls and Trivia Games. We also offer a number of pre-written multiple choice questions for Trivia Games.
Question Types supported by Trivia Games
Making a New Multiple Choice Question
Multiple Choice questions are our main question type. More Experiences use multiple choice questions than any other question type!
You can add a single blank Multiple Choice question with two methods.
Firstly, you can simply click on the (+) button that's always located to the right of the last question within the set. This will instantly add a new question after the selected question.

Alternatively, you can click on the navy blue Question Tools box. In the pop-up, click the green Add Blank Question (+) button.

Add Blank Questions From the Trivia Library
If you want to add multiple blank questions at once, you can use any of the blank trivia games under the Write Your Own category to add a specific amount and type of blank questions.

If you're adding questions to an existing game using the Trivia Library, you can monitor how many questions your game already has by keeping an eye out on the Total Questions Added module located in the bottom-right corner of the Trivia Library. As you add more questions from the Trivia Library, you'll see the Total Questions Added number will also increase. |
Editing Multiple Choice Questions
To edit a Multiple Choice question, click the green Edit (pencil) button in the top right of the question text box.
You can also click the text of the question itself, where it says "(click here to edit)"
This will open a panel with a few options for your question.

Change Question Text
If you'd like to change the question's text, simply click into the text box, type out your question, and click the green Save button with the checkmark icon, or simply press Enter on your keyboard.
Question Order
To change the order of a question or where it should go, you can use the Question Order option on the far left of the Edit Panel. Click it to open the dropdown selection box, and choose its new numerical position. Click the green Save button with a checkmark on the right after you're done.
You can also do that by dragging and dropping the question tab. However, you can't rearrange questions out of the current group of 10 questions using this method.
Question Type
You can change the Question Type of the selected question here. Please note that changing question types erases all answers you have set and you cannot undo this. If you accidentally change the Question Type, you will have to rewrite all of the answers you set for your multiple-choice question, as well as any custom colors, the correct answer, etc.
Double-check the question type you've selected, and click the green Save (checkmark) button to apply it.

Point Value
You can set how many points an individual question is worth. By default, all trivia questions are set to 100 points. Click the text box and you can type in any number from 1 to 1000. You can make harder questions worth more, put more valuable questions at the end of your Trivia Game, or you can set each question to higher values to make the whole game more competitive!
You can easily do that in the Trivia Format section. You can find this section under the green Settings tab on the Experience Dashboard and under the Trivia Format header. You can then set a new Overall Point Value, and click Save. Any questions set to the old default value will automatically change to your new default value!
After you select your point value, click the green Save (checkmark) button. You'll see the new value you entered in the small purple box under your question.

This setting is only active when Points Mode is selected in the green Settings tab, under Trivia Format. In Percentage Correct Mode or Survivor Mode, players are scored simply by whether or not they answer the questions right.
Additionally, Crowdpurr Polls don't have scores so this setting will not be available in a Poll.
Points Wager
If you'd like to add a little fun to your Trivia Game, you make any trivia question a Points Wager question. With points wagering, your players can choose what they want to wager on the next question. For a question with the Points Wager switch enabled, your players can choose to go all-in, half-in, partially in, or even none at all! The choice is up to them.
Points Wager questions make for a great finale or bonus question at the end of your trivia games. For more information on how the new Points Wager feature works, please visit Points Wagering Explained
Question Timer
You can also set a specific Question Timer duration for an individual question. By default, all questions are set to 15 seconds. Like setting an individual question's Point Value, you can use this customization to make harder questions by reducing its Question Timer or even using a higher Point Value in conjunction with a faster timer to make the game more competitive.
To set a specific question's timer, click the text box and select your preferred duration using the dropdown boxes. For instance, you can set a specific question's timer as short as 10 seconds or as long as 60 minutes!

Copy Answer Colors
Did you know you can change the colors on the answer buttons? You can find out how to do that here:
The Copy Answer Colors button will apply this question's Answer Color scheme to every question in your Experience. You'll get a notification in the top right corner confirming it, and if you go to your other questions, they will have the new color scheme applied.
Any new questions you add afterward will have Crowdpurr's default color scheme. If you know all the questions you want to add to your Experience, add them all first before applying any new answer colors. This can save you some time. For now, after you add a new question, you'll either need to go back to one with the proper colors and apply them from there or add your new colors manually. You can also use the Clone Question button, discussed below.
Clone Question
The Clone Question button copies over everything in your question to a new question, and places that new one right after the current one in the order.
In some cases, using the Clone Question tool might be better than using Add Blank Question. If you already have the Answer Colors set up, cloning your question will carry them over to the new question including any specified Point Value and Question Type. If you want to keep everything the same throughout your Experience, aside from the questions and answers themselves, then cloning is the way to go. If you want to have more variety in the point values, colors, and types, just clicking Add Blank Question (+) might save some time.
Remove Question
If you made an extra question by mistake, don't like a pre-made question from our categories, or just want to get rid of a question for any reason, click the red Remove (trash) button.
This will delete the current question and all of its answers from your Experience. A message box will appear asking if you're sure. Click Cancel to keep the question, or OK to permanently remove it.
You can't remove a question if it's the last one in your Experience. If you want to remove the entire Experience, go to the My Experiences page. You can find My Experiences on the left-hand sidebar. For more information on adding and removing experiences, check out Removing an Experience.
Upload Question Image
If you've upgraded to the Classroom Plan or higher, you can add images to your questions. To add an image to a Multiple Choice question, find the Question Media box to the right of the Multiple Choice answer options where you'll find the Upload Image box. For more information on adding images to questions, check out the article Uploading Your Own Images to Questions.
By design, the Presentation View will display 5 answer options for the Active Question before rotating to display the next set of answer options. If a question has more than five answer options, then the first five will be shown before displaying the next group of answer options in sets of five.
Add Answer Images
When using the Multiple Choice question type, you can also add images to your answer options. For instance, you can add Animated GIFs from Giphy and Stock Images from Pixabay. If you're on the Classroom Plan or higher, you can even upload your own images to your answer options.
To add an image to Multiple Choice answer options, find the camera button located to the right of the individual answer options. Upon clicking on the camera button, you'll be prompted to select an Animated GIF, Stock Image, or upload your own image.
Reviewing Results on the Experience Dashboard
From the Questions tab on the Experienced Dashboard, there are various stats including Answers Received and the Answered Correct percentage. You can quickly review these stats to understand how many participants have answered the question and what percent answered correctly.
On the Summary tab of the Experience Dashboard, an overall summary of the trivia game or poll can be viewed.

For trivia games, under the Summary tab, Multiple Choice questions will show a percentage of how many players answered the trivia question correctly along with the above-mentioned answer stats. You can also export all responses to each question submitted by individual participants by exporting the Crowd Activity as a CSV spreadsheet.
Poll Summary Tab
For polls, under the Summary tab, Multiple Choice questions will display the Top Voted Answers so the most popular answer options can be viewed. To review the number of votes for all other cast answers, the Crowd Activity must be exported to CSV and further analyzed in spreadsheet software.
