If you signed up with Crowdpurr using your Facebook account by clicking the Sign in with Facebook button on our signup page, though not necessary, at some point you may want to disconnect your Facebook account from Crowdpurr and revert to simply using an email and password login.
This article will take you through the steps of disconnecting your account on Facebook and then updating your account in Crowdpurr.
Disconnecting Crowdpurr from Facebook
The first step in disconnecting Facebook is to actually remove the Crowdpurr app from your Facebook account in Facebook.
Log into facebook.com on a web browser on your computer.
In the upper-right hand corner, click the drop-down arrow and select the Settings option.
On the Settings page that opens, on the left-hand menu column, click on the Apps and Websites category. This will display all of the connected apps to your Facebook account.
Scroll down to the Crowdpurr app. You may need to click on the Show All link at the bottom of your list of apps if you have many connected apps.
Click on the View and edit link on the Crowdpurr app box. This will open the Crowdpurr app settings.
As you can see in this pop-up box, you are only sharing the following data with Crowdpurr:
- Profile Picture
- Email Address
Now click on the Remove App link at the bottom of the pop-up. This will open a Remove Crowdpurr? pop-up. You don't need to check the box asking about Also delete all posts, photos, and videos... as Crowdpurr never posts anything on your behalf to your Facebook page.
Click on the Remove button. You have now successfully disconnected Crowdpurr from your Facebook account.
Convert Your Account To User Email & Password Login
Once you've disconnected Crowdpurr from your Facebook account in Facebook using the above instructions, you will need convert your Crowdpurr account to use an email and password login.
To do this, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with the request to convert your Facebook-login Crowdpurr account to an email-login Crowdpurr account and we will update your account. Be sure to include the email you want to use to log in in the text of the email to us if you will not be using the same email from Facebook.
After updating your account, we will send you a confirmation email with instructions on adding a password to your account. Once you receive the email you will need to follow the steps to reset your password. To do this please go to Resetting Your Crowdpurr Password.
After following these steps your account should now use an email and password to login and you will no longer be connected to Facebook or share any Facebook information with Crowdpurr.
