If you're a subscriber to the Conference Plan or higher, you can create a custom domain URL for your crowd to participate in your experience.
Default Crowdpurr URLs
By default, your crowd can use the crowdpurr.live URL and enter your experience's code to join your Trivia Game, Poll, or Social Wall. Additionally, they can go directly to your experience by simply navigating to the URL in the following format:
crowdpurr.live/<your experience code>
So if your experience code was 123XYZ, to join your experience, your crowd can navigate to:
Custom Experience Codes
By default, Crowdpurr issues any new experience with a unique random five-digit experience code. If you're a subscriber to the Seminar Plan or higher, you can customize this code to be any character combination between three and thirteen characters. Please see the following article for more: Customizing Access Codes For Experiences
Creating a Custom Domain URL
If want to create a custom URL that doesn't use Crowdpurr's default crowdpurr.live URL and you're a subscriber to the Conference Plan or higher, you can purchase any domain that's available or use a subdomain of an existing domain that you already own.
Using a New Domain
By purchasing a new domain, you can have brand-activated, identity-based URLs that can use fun "active" domain names and new extension types such as:
These are example domains where "mycompany" and "event" would be replaced with your company, acronym, or event title. Any domain and extension that's available for purchase can be used. We recommend domain retailers like GoDaddy and NameCheap where a new domain can be purchased anywhere from $1.99 to $9.99. Google and Amazon also sell domains now.
If you're using a new domain, simply search for the domain on one of the above providers, purchase it, then email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know you've purchased a domain and we'll email you the details on how to configure it (you will likely need help from your IT team/admin as this involves configuring domain DNS settings). Crowdpurr can also help with setup if needed.
Using an Existing Domain
If you want to use an existing domain, you can use any subdomain of a domain you already own such as:
These are example domains where "ourcompany" and "event" would be replaced with your company, acronym, or event title. Once you (or your IT admin) has created the subdomain, email email@example.com and let us know you've created a subdomain and we'll email you the details on how to configure it (you will likely need help from your IT team/admin as this involves configuring domain DNS settings). Crowdpurr can also help with setup if needed.
How It Works After Configuration
After the domain is configured correctly, the URL displayed on the Projector View will update with your custom URL. This URL will automatically take your participants directly to your designated experience when they navigate to it on their mobile devices. All while retaining your custom URL in the address bar. So your crowd will see your brand in the URL. And if you've upload custom logos and backgrounds, they will see a fully customized interactive experience thus providing a white-label functionality that's branded to your company, identity, or event.
Using Multiple Experiences
If your event uses multiple experiences, we'll configure your domain so it takes your participants to a branded code gateway (similar to crowdpurr.live) where your crowd can enter a specific experience code. Additionally, your custom domain can use the above alternative URL format where you crowd can specify your custom domain and then add the experience code:
You can also create multiple custom domains to link individually to each of your experiences.
The help team at Crowdpurr is always here, so if at any point you have questions, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org or try chatting with us below.
