Before we start your Social Wall, we'll open up the Mobile View to see how your crowd will post using Crowdpurr's web interface once we start the Social Wall shortly. You can open up the Mobile View on an actual mobile device (e.g. your mobile phone, your tablet, etc.) or you can open up the Mobile View on a web-browser tab on your desktop computer, laptop, or iMac. All devices are supported.
To open the Mobile View, do one of the following:
From the Experience Dashboard
This is the easiest way to create sample posts to to your Social Wall while still working in the Experience Dashboard. Simply click on the large blue Mobile View button in the Control Center area of your Experience Dashboard. This button will open a test Mobile View browser window on your desktop or laptop computer. This browser window simulates how posting to your Social Wall will look for your crowd on smaller mobile devices. You can then have it open along side your Experience Dashboard for testing.
During your actual event, your crowd will access your Social Wall using the below Mobile Device instructions.
On Your Mobile Device
Open up your mobile browser (e.g. Safari, Chrome, etc.) on your mobile device (e.g. smartphone, tablet, etc.) and in the URL field, type in crowd.live. You will then be asked to Enter A Code. Simply enter the five-digit Social Wall Code for your Social Wall from the Experience Dashboard. In this example, our code is 3BGMN as shown on the Experience Dashboard. Your Experience Code will be different. Please see your Experience Dashboard.
Signing Into Your Social Wall from the Mobile View
Once you have opened the Mobile View, it will ask you to enter a nickname. By default, a nickname is needed as a minimum from each participant in order to post on the Social Wall. This is so each post can be attributed to its author. If posting using Twitter or Instagram, the author's username and avatar from each social media channel will be displayed below their posts and images.
When the Mobile View is opened, enter a nickname into the first field. Then click the Go! button. The Mobile View will update to say Social Wall Will Begin Shortly. All instances of the Mobile View for all participants will be in a holding state until your start your Social Wall.
Ready To Follow Along and Post
You're now ready to follow along and post to your Social Wall using the Mobile View. When you start your Social Wall, the Mobile View you have open will update with a text-box to input a message and an image-uploading widget to add images, photos, or selfies.
You're now ready to post to your Social Wall using the Mobile View. Before we do that though, let's see how the Projector View works in the next step Launching the Social Wall Projector View.
