Great, you've set up your Header Message, you've tested the mobile-client and the Projector View, we're now ready to test-run your Social Wall.
Running Your Social Wall
You're now going to test your Social Wall as a "dry run". Feel free to invite friends or coworkers to help you test on their mobile devices! Or you can test your Social Wall by yourself. After the next step, we'll learn how to reset your Social Wall and clear out any crowd responses from your test runs.
Go ahead and Start your Social Wall. If your Social Wall is already started from a previous step, that's okay too.
How Posts Appear on Your Social Wall
When new posts are published to your Social Wall, whether they're posted via Crowdpurr or queried from a social media site, they will appear on the Experience Dashboard under the "Social Wall Dashboard" tab in the "Published Posts" section. At the same time, they will also appear on the Projector View for your audience to see.
Testing Posting From Twitter and Instagram
Now that your Social Wall is "Live" you should see some posts coming in from both Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #cats. We intentionally used a very common hashtag so our Social Wall would pick up a lot of posts. Additionally, feel free to test Twitter and Instagram yourself as well. Just log into either app, create a new Tweet or post, and use the #cats hashtag. Within a few minutes, your Tweet or post should publish to your Social Wall!
Testing Posting From Crowdpurr
Now that your Social Wall is live, we can now open a mobile-client either in a desktop browser or a mobile device.
Create A New Test Post From Crowdpurr
In the mobile-client, enter your First Name and click the blue "Go!" button. On the next screen, let's type in a new message:
- "This is the craziest cat of all!"
Now let's add an image. For this tutorial, an image of cat is used. Feel free to take your own photo or download an image of a cat to use. Upload the image using the mobile-client. Finally, click on "Submit Post!"
Our post will now appear on the Experience Dashboard and also on the Projector View.
Great! We now see that Twitter and Instagram are working. And we also tested posting using Crowdpurr to post. You're ready for the next step Finishing & Resetting the Social Wall.
