During your Poll, you may want to show your crowd the real-time results of their votes on the various questions and answers of your Poll. You can do this after voting on each question, at the very end of your Poll, or keep the real-time results view on the entire time! Or you may even decide to keep your Poll results completely private. The choice is yours with Crowdpurr.
Crowdpurr Views Explained
In Crowdpurr, we call the various data displays available to show after a question is responded to Views. For example, Show Live Answer Results (A). Each view is followed by a letter that is each View's keyboard shortcut to enable that view. Views can be turned off and on by clicking the associated View button or pressing the corresponding keyboard shortcut. Each View is essentially a switch that toggles that specific View off and on. Usually, as a Poll host, you will show a View at the end of each question to update your crowd. For example, you can display the Live Answer Results of the question they just voted on.
By default, Show Live Answer Results (A) is enabled on Polls. This means that as soon as each participant votes on a question, they will see the live answer results on their Participant View. The Presentation View will always display the Live Answer Results in real time. If you want to manually enable Show Live Answer Results (A) and hide the results until you're ready to display, simply disable this setting before enabling a question to be voted on.
Turning on Views
There are several ways to toggle the Views off and on in Crowdpurr depending on where you're working in within Crowdpurr. All View buttons are synced and can be enabled or disabled from any of the following locations.
The Viewer Controls Buttons
On the Experience Dashboard, click on any of the buttons listed under the Viewer Controls heading. This will toggle that view on and off on the Presentation View and all crowd Participant Views. The idea here is that you can enable various views from the Experience Dashboard without having to mouse into the Presentation View. To turn off a view, simply press the button again. Polls only have three main available views, while Trivia Games have additional views such as Show Correct Answer (C) and Show Rankings (R).
Enabling Show Live Answer Results (A)
The available views for Polls are as follows:
- Start Question (S)
- Show Live Answer Results (A)
- Show Question Notes (N)
- Show Live Stream (Z)
The Presentation View Configuration Menu
The same views are also toggleable from the Presentation View window. Simply open the Configuration Menu of the Presentation View by clicking on the "gear button" in the lower-right-hand corner of the Presentation View, and the same views are available as switches.

Keyboard Shortcuts
The easiest method to use when enabling different Views is to use your computer's keyboard. Simply press the letter or shortcut on the keyboard to enable a given View. The View's keyboard shortcut is listed next to the description of the view on both the Experience Dashboard and the Presentation View. The keyboard shortcut can be used on both the Experience Dashboard and the Presentation View and you'll notice it updates both the buttons and toggle switches. To turn off a view, simply press the keyboard shortcut again.
Show Live Answer Results (A)
This view updates the Presentation View and all crowd Participant Views with live vote results from your crowd for the current Active Question. It updates the Presentation View and Participant Views to show a bar chart that features the number of votes received for each question and the percentage of the crowd that voted on that answer. This view is also live, so it updates in real time as votes are received by Crowdpurr. The keyboard shortcut for this view is "A".
If you leave Show Live Answer Results (A) off when your crowd votes on a question, then the Presentation View and Participant Views will not update automatically to show the live vote results. It will require you to manually enable the Show Live Answer Results (A) to show the bar charts and results.
If you leave Show Live Answer Results (A) enabled all the time, then the Presentation View will always show live results in the bar chart as the question receives votes and the crowd Participant Views will update to a bar chart with live results as soon as the participant casts their vote.
How to Sequentially Show Live Answer Results (A) With Your Poll
You can now see how it makes sense to disable Show Live Answer Results (A) before your crowd votes on a question. You could then activate a new question by updating the Active Question and then allow your crowd to vote on the current question. When voting has ended, you can announce "Let's see how the crowd voted?" You can then enable Show Live Answer Results (A) and your crowd can see how everyone answered.
After the crowd has viewed the results, you can then disable Show Live Answer Results (A) and update the Active Question to the next question which will open voting. Be sure to disable Show Live Answer Results (A) before moving to the next question if you do not wish to show the incoming votes in real time to the crowd.
