Your crowd accesses your Experience through their mobile device's web browser. From your crowd's perspective, Crowdpurr is simply a web app with no native app required to download from any app store. To participate in your Experience, your crowd simply has to navigate to a URL in their browser. When they do this, they see the mobile-device version of your Experience. (e.g. The Participant View)
The Participant View
The Participant View simply refers to the version of your Experience that your crowd will see on their mobile devices once they join your Experience. This is what your crowd uses to play your Trivia Game, vote in your Poll, mark squares in a Bingo Game, and post messages on a Social Wall. You can see and experiment with this ahead of your actual event in order to ensure everything is working as you expected.
Upon displaying the Presentation View to your crowd, they can read the bottom URL (Uniform Resource Locator) or hyperlink to access your Experience. Your crowd simply types it into the URL bar of their mobile browser on their device. In the Presentation View example below, the URL bar says:
"To play, go to crowd.live & enter code: 3UM3W"

Entering the Experience Code on the Participant View
After your crowd navigates to crowd.live, they will be taken to the Crowdpurr Participant View.
Upon reaching the Participant View, your crowd must enter your Experience's access code to enter the Experience. They simply click on the input box and type in the code. After entering the code, they will be taken to your Experience.

In addition to the above URLs, you can also access your Experience's Participant View using the following URL format where 12345 is your Experience Code:
You can quickly test your Experience by using this format versus taking the extra step to enter the code in the input field.
Entering Their Name & Using the Experience
If your Experience requires your crowd to enter their name, email, or other information, they will be asked to enter that information before signing into your Experience.
After entering any lead capture information, your crowd will proceed to your Experience. If you haven't started your Experience, they will see a message informing them that the Experience will begin shortly.
Further Educating Your Crowd On How to Participate
Oftentimes, simply displaying the Participant View isn't enough to "inform" your crowd that there is going to be an interactive experience they can participate in. Many clients use additional, external methods to alert their crowd including:
- Verbal announcements from the event host on how to participate
- Additional intro slides within Keynote or PowerPoint that have instructions for participating
- Printed placards on tables that display the Experience URL or QR Code and instructions for participating
- Including information in event emails, handouts, etc. that features the URL and instructions for participating
Setting Up & Customizing the Participant View
To open a Participant View, click on the blue Participant View button under Crowd Views on the Experience Dashboard. The Presentation View will open up in a different and smaller tab of your browser.

Participant View Settings
To open the View Settings panel for the Participant View, click the gray Settings button with a gear icon on the bottom right corner of the tab. Unlike the Presentation View's settings, the Participant View has the same settings across all of the different Experience Types.

Dark Text Mode
This mode will make most of the text darker on the Participant View. This can make it much easier to read the questions and answers if you're using a lighter background.

This is where you can set which background your Participant View uses. This sets the background for all Participant Views for that specific Experience. The different categories of backgrounds are explained below.
All members can use any of our provided backgrounds for any of their Experiences; however, Conference Plan members and above can upload their own background images and set a custom hexadecimal code for their backgrounds.
The Gradient Backgrounds have a variety of different color patterns to choose from. These backgrounds are far more abstract, simply involving a few colors blending together. Gradients can be excellent backgrounds as they provide a great deal of visual interest without being too distracting.
When you create a Survivor Mode Trivia Game, the background is set to the first Survivor Background by default.
Pick one of these if you just want a solid color for the background of your Participant View. These could be more professional than the other available backgrounds. Simple backgrounds are great when the focus needs to be just on your data.
Choose Custom Color
Setting a custom color for the background lets you use any solid color you like. Conference Plan members can choose a custom color for their Participant View background. Click on the Custom Color selector, and you can use the color picker to choose just the right color for your background. If you know the hexadecimal code for your color, you can enter that instead. Click the blue Apply (checkmark) next to the selector to apply your color to the background.
