Crowdpurr Trivia Games have a variety of advanced settings that can be found under the "Trivia Game Settings" tab on the "Trivia Game Setup Panel" on the Experience Dashboard. Each of these settings is explained below.
Trivia Game Name & Description
This area lets you update the name and description of your Trivia Game. The name of your Trivia Game is shown on both the Projector View and the mobile-client. The description is for your internal use only and is not shown anywhere in Crowdpurr.
To edit the name and description, simply click on the fields, update the text(s), and press the "Save" button (or press the Enter key on your keyboard).
If you're a Classroom Plan subscriber or higher, one of Crowdpurr's Premium Features is uploading your own custom logo that replaces the default Crowdpurr logo throughout the entire Crowdpurr app!

The following settings affect different aspects of your crowd's experience.
Allow Multiple Sign-Ins
Normally a mobile-device and player, once logged into a Crowdpurr Experience, is remembered by Crowdpurr. Even if the mobile-device's browser is refreshed, the device gets turned off and on, the device is signed off for hours, etc., Crowdpurr will still remember the device and trivia player and their status in the game.
Sometimes there are situations where you may want to allow devices, when refreshed, to have the ability to drop the current player and create a new player. For example, if your event is sharing devices (like community iPads at a school) between games and/or you simply want to allow players to change their nickname or team name.
If you turn on "Allow Multiple Sign-Ins", upon a browser refresh, Crowdpurr will ask if the user wants to continue as the same player or create a new player. If you don't have this setting turned on, each device will retain the nickname or team name first input when the device first accessed the Trivia Game.

Upon refreshing browser, Crowdpurr asks if user wants to create a new sign-on.

Set Crowd Language
This sets the language for all labels and instructions that are read by your crowd including the Projector View and mobile-client. So if your crowd is French-speaking, you can set the mobile-client and Projector View (the crowd-facing parts of Crowdpurr) to display all their labels and instructions in French.

The following settings affect the rules of your Trivia Game.
Enable Team/Table Mode
By default, Crowdpurr assumes that a Trivia Game will be played by individual players on their mobile device competing against one another. Each player that joins the game is asked for their nickname so they can be displayed on the Live Player Rankings on the Projector View.
When this setting is turned on, your Trivia Game will assume players are playing as a team at a table together. When a new player joins, Crowdpurr will ask for a 'Team Name' instead of an individual nickname. Each Team (or Table) chooses one representative to actually use their mobile-device to play and answer questions. This individual enters a 'Team/Table Name' on behalf of their team and answers on behalf of their team. The Live Rankings then shows the rankings of all teams rather than individuals.
Enable First Question Is Practice
When this setting is turned on, the first trivia question in your Trivia Game will not be scored or counted in the overall rankings. The first question is a practice question and answering correctly or incorrectly doesn't matter.
This setting is typically used in order to "warm up" and introduce your crowd to how the Trivia Game experience works on their mobile devices. This can help with the learning curve that some players experience when first getting the hang of it.
Enable CPQ Survivor Mode (HQ-Style Trivia)?
When this setting is enabled, your Trivia Game's will follow "Survivor Mode" rules where players must answer every question correct in order to keep answering further questions and to ultimately win. Players get eliminated if they answer a question incorrectly or they run out of time.
Using CPQ Survivor Mode will cause the Rankings View on the Projector View and Mobile View to only show the current "Survivors" player listing. They will not get ranked by their overall points or questions answered correct. It will only show players who have survived by answer all questions correctly.
Enabling this setting will disable "Fast Answer/Points Mode" if it's enabled.
CPQ Survivor Mode Options
Crowdpurr has added a few useful advanced features that you may want to take advantage of when using CPQ Mode for your crowd. You may not want your Trivia Game to work exactly like HQ Trivia. Because of this we've added the following Advanced Options that become available once you've enabled "CPQ Survivor Mode (HQ-Style Trivia):
Allow Eliminated Players To Keep Answering?
Enabling this settings allows your players to keep playing along after they have been eliminated. Eliminated players won't be able to win, but they can still have fun by answering questions and finding out if they answered correctly. If this setting is disabled, eliminated players will be locked out from answering future questions - which sometimes isn't as fun for your crowd.
Always Show A Winner(s)?
Enabling this setting will always show a winner on both the Projector View and Mobile View when you enable Show Rankings (R) on the Experience Dashboard. So in the event that all of your players are unable to answer every question correctly, this setting will you show you the player(s) that answered the most questions correctly as the winners. If this setting is disabled, players must answer every single question correct to win on the leaderboard. If no players answered every question correctly, Crowdpurr will say that there were no survivors on the final question.
Enable Fastest Answer/Points Mode?
By default, this setting is turned on. This mode scores players trivia answers on a tiered points system based on time. Players earn more points the faster they answer correctly. A descending timer-bar is shown on both the Projector View and mobile-client that indicates how many points can be earned. This mode discourages cheating, for example by Googling for correct answers, because it rewards players more points for actually knowing the answer versus taking time to search for it.
The faster a player answers correctly, the more points they earn per question. If they answer correctly after the points-timer runs out, they earn zero points. And if they answer incorrectly, they lose points. The Live Player Rankings on the Projector View rank players by their overall points. Enabling this setting will disable "CPQ Survivor Mode (HQ-Style Trivia)" if it's enabled.
By default, the Points-Timer starts automatically when the Trivia Game started or when the Trivia Game's Active Question is updated.
Set Points Time Per Question
You set the amount of time the points-timer runs for each question. Simply select your desired time on the minutes dropdown, then on the seconds dropdown, and click the "Save" button.
The Points Table
The points table displays how many points are earned per each time tier based on the time that is set per question on the Points-Timer. At this time you cannot edit the amount of points, only the time that is allowed for each question.
Enable Auto-Start Points Timer Mode?
When this setting is turned off, each question's Points Timer will start automatically start upon updating the active question. Turning this setting on requires the Trivia Host to manually start each question's Points Timer using the button that gets added in the above 'Active Question' panel.
This setting is useful when you don't want to automatically start the Points-Timer for each question. Perhaps you want to introduce each question first, then start the Points-Timer.

This image shows what happens when Auto-Start Points Timer is turned off. Each time the Active Question is updated, the "Start Question Points Timer" button on the Experience Dashboard must be clicked to start the new question's Points Timer.
The following settings affect the overall Results Summary that is shown to each player on their mobile-device after they have answered every question in your Trivia Game.
Show Overall Results To Voter After Trivia Game
This setting will show a Results Summary to each player after they've answered all Trivia Game questions or the Trivia Game is ended by the host. The Results Summary lists all the questions, answers, correct answers to each question, and how the overall crowd answered each question. If you want to reveal your Trivia Game's results to the crowd, turn on this setting. If you have the below "Show Personal Results to Voter After Trivia Game" turned off, the Results Summary will only show overall crowd results and not that player's personal answers.
Show Personal Results to Voter After Trivia Game
This setting will show a Results Summary to each player after they've answered all Trivia Game questions or the Trivia Game is ended by the host. The Results Summary lists all the questions, answers, correct answers to each question, and how that player answered on each question. If you have the above "Show Overall Results To Voter After Trivia Game" setting turned off, the Results Summary will only show personal results, not overall results.

Experience Playback Mode
This setting affects how your Trivia Game's questions are delivered to your crowd. There are three options:
- Host Controlled - This setting only shows one question at a time to your crowd. It requires you, as the host, to update the Active Question in order to advance your Trivia Game to the next question. You must also manually enable the "Live Answer Results", "Show Correct Answer", and "Show Live Rankings" views. This allows you to have the most amount of control over the pace of your Poll.
- Fully Automatic - This setting only shows one question at a time to your crowd. Unlike Host Controlled, this setting automatically updates the question based on a timer interval that you set. It can also automatically show all Trivia Game views and loop your Poll after it reaches the last question.
- Crowd Controlled - This setting shows all of your questions to the crowd at once. Each participant can navigate and answer on each question at their own pace. This mode is not compatible with Fastest Answer/Points Mode and will disable that setting by default.
If your Trivia Game only has one question, you can only use Host Controlled mode. To learn more about how these setting work, check out the article Experience Playback Modes Explained.
Profanity & Review Settings
These settings apply to questions in your Trivia Game that have the text answer question-type. These questions will have submitted answers that are typed in by your crowd (versus simply choosing pre-written multiple choice answers).
Normally, when a text answer is submitted, it is immediately shown on the Projector View to your crowd. You can turn on these settings if you want to review and/or edit your crowd's text answers for profanity before they are shown to your crowd on the Projector View.
Enable Vote Review
Turning on this setting will require you, as the host, to review each text answer before it is counted as an answer. If you reject it, it will not be counted. If you approve it, it will be scored and shown on the Projector View. You can also edit the answer and then approve it.
Enable Profanity Filtering
Another option is to simply filter any words flagged by Crowdpurr as profanity in submitted text answers . Crowdpurr has an intelligent algorithm to identify profanity words, phrases, and even numeral characters. If detected, Crowdpurr can do one of the following:
- Auto-Filter - Crowdpurr will automatically sanitize any text answer words flagged as profanity with a series of ****** characters.
- Auto-Reject - Crowdpurr will automatically reject any text answers that contain words flagged as profanity on the mobile-client and ask the voter to rephrase.

Reset Trivia Game
Resetting your Trivia Game will remove all game responses from your crowd and set your Trivia Game back to the "Ready" state. This is useful if you had previously tested or did a "dry run" of your Trivia Game. Resetting your Trivia Game using this button is the same as using the reset button in the Control Center and clicking the "Clear Crowd Responses" button.
To reset your Trivia Game, simply click on the red "Reset" button.
